Overview[edit]

The Grandpappy Ping is a semi-automatic rifle modeled after the classic M1 Garand. It’s a dependable mid-tier weapon that balances respectable damage with an iconic reload mechanic. While not the fastest or flashiest rifle in DEAD, the Ping has style and staying power.

Beast Upgrades[edit]

  • Pongpappy – Damage increase and faster reloads.
  • Singpappy – Adds more sustain DPS with quicker cycling and reduced recoil.
  • Dingpocalypse – Final form; brutal late-game rifle with absurd fire rate and damage.

Tips[edit]

  • Strong headshot potential; precision players get the most out of it.
  • Upgrade path makes it a surprisingly good late-game weapon if you invest.

Trivia[edit]

  • The nickname “Ping” comes directly from the M1 Garand’s famous clip eject sound.
  • The Beast upgrade names are part of a running gag in development.
  • Internal dev notes originally listed it as “Rifle”.
