Cupid’s Mistake (Crossbow)
*“Shot through the heart… and you’re to blame.”*

Overview[edit]

The Cupid’s Mistake is a single-shot crossbow that combines raw bolt damage with meme value. While it can deliver strong hits, its one-bolt magazine and frequent reloads make it impractical in horde situations. A cult favourite for its comedy Beast upgrades, but rarely a competitive choice.

Beast Upgrades[edit]

  • Divorce Lawyer – Increased damage; reloads more quickly.
  • Alimony Bolt – Noticeable DPS boost with stronger bolts and shorter delays.
  • Child Support Summoner – Final form; bolts hit absurdly hard, with faster cycles, turning the crossbow into a surprising late-game oddball.

Tips[edit]

  • Best treated as a joke weapon — fun to use, but outclassed by rifles.
  • Beast upgrades make it comically viable in the mid-game, but ammo efficiency is still poor.
  • Great for showing off.

Trivia[edit]

  • Named as a jab at Valentine’s-themed weapon tropes.
  • Beast upgrade chain riffs on escalating breakup humour, making it one of the silliest paths in the game.
  • Despite being a joke, a fully upgraded Child Support Summoner can shred elites if you’re accurate.
  • Crossbow runs are a brutal challenge that garner a lot of respect.
